In all the areas of the Municipality of Pythagorio there is a vibrant cultural, athletic, and ecological movement with great distinctions in national level.
Amongst many activities the principal ones are:

THE ACTIVITIES OF LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS
As early as the beginning of the 80s organized groups of fire safety and fire fighting have been established. Two of the first Associations of the Friends of the Forest in Greece were founded in Pagondas and Mitilinioi.
At the moment there are four Volunteer Groups of Fire Fighters, members of which were amongst the first 100 to be trained in Greece as Volunteer Firefighters and Rescue Team.
Special mention deserves to the Youth Society of Pagondas and the Women Association �Omonia� which is responsible for the Children Hostel and organizes every August the Celebration of the Father.
Other organizations such as Amphilyssos in Pyrgos, The Associations of the Friend�s of Music in Mitilinioi and the Cultural Associactions of Mytilinioi, Chora, Iraion and others are responsible for an admirable socio-cultural work.
